Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Nebraska huskers, Arik Gilbert, was arrested for breaking into a smoke shop & stealing vapes worth $1,600 at Lincoln smoke shop.


The shirtless man, who covered his face, was then seen rummaging through the shop for several minutes.

While inside, police received a call for a possible break-in, and they rushed to the scene.

To his surprise, at least 8 police officers were waiting outside when he began exiting the shop. Gilbert threw down his bags, and jumped back with his hands up, startled, before being arrested without incident.

Stunning surveillance footage appears to show Nebraska tight end Arik Gilbert’s alleged burglary attempt at a Lincoln smoke shop. 

Gilbert was arrested early Tuesday on suspicion of burglary after police received a report of a store break-in at SJ’s Liquor and Vape Shop shortly before 2 a.m..

Video of the incident shows a man wearing a mask to cover his face and using what appeared to be a cement block to break the front door of the business. 


Camera footage within the building showed what appeared to be the former five-star recruit out of Marietta, Georgia, kicking through a second door and then walking inside the store. 

UPDATE: Arik Gilbert has been arrested on a burglary charge in Lancaster County. The former LSU, Georgia, and current Nebraska tight end was awaiting a waiver from the NCAA to play this season. He stole over $1600 from a liquor and vape shop.
