VIDEO: Adele sticks up for a bothered fan, Juanp Lastra, from security guard after being told to sir down at her Las Vegas residency

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Adele sticks up for a bothered fan, Juanp Lastra from security guard after being told to sir down at her Las Vegas residency.

We’re sure security guards nationwide are on high alert after the recent string of dangerous incidents, but it goes without saying that people should also be allowed to actually enjoy themselves while seeing their favorite artists live. It’s a real bummer that so many performers have had to pause their shows like this recently—that’s not fun for anyone involved.

“I had been planning to come to this concert for over a year and I finally had the opportunity to come see most beautiful glorious woman this earth has gotten. I still can not wrap my head around the fact that I was in the same room as ADELE, sang every song with her, and she even stopped the show to defend me.”

He added: “I did not expected everyone in my section to be mad at me for having the time of my life and wanting to stand up and sing with her but I honestly did not care at all about what anyone was saying to me I just was in awe with the master piece I was watching with my own eyes. I did not have time for them haters.”

While it seems pretty clear that the security guards were in the wrong here—if for nothing else than putting their hands on someone who didn’t pose an active threat—we do only have this one perspective on the incident. It seems like the fan was filming with a selfie stick, which was probably pretty annoying for the people seated behind him. Still, the crowd at large seems to be on Adele’s side during the interruption, with many cheering her on and one loudly shouting “They won’t let us stand up!”

Adele coming to the defense of the male fan, whose identity remain unknown, earned her loud cheers from the adoring crowd.

As the cheers and screams went down, the British singer proceeded to address the audience, stating: ‘Sorry, guys. [That fan has] been bothered the whole show by security and other people sitting behind him. He’s here to have fun. All of you are here to have fun.’

She resumed the show and the band started playing Water Under the Bridge again. Due to the incident, the Oscar-winning singer had to start the song from the very top.

Various video clips of Adele’s actions quickly went viral on social media, with many of her fans taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reactions.

After identifying the fan, she said to security: “Why are you bothering him? Can you leave him alone please?”

She then added to the fan: “They won’t bother you again, my darling. You enjoy the show.”

The fan then identified themselves as TikTok user @juanp_lastra, who posted a video of footage taken during the show, which shows a member of venue staff approaching him and saying: “Look behind you! Everybody’s upset with you.”

The singer — who recently revealed she collapsed after one of her residency shows due to a sciatica attack — earned praise on social media from fans after a video of her defending the fan went viral.

In footage of the incident, Adele could be heard saying to the unidentified security security guard, ‘What is going on there with that young fan who’s been bothered so much since I came on for standing up? What’s going on with him? Yes, you, with your hand up, yes you!’

Not satisfied with the security guard’s answer, which couldn’t be heard due to the loud cheering from the many other concert goers, the 16-time Grammy winner continued to shout at the security guard to ‘leave the fan alone.’
