Conrad Fisher feels betrayed after Belly and Jeremiah were seen kissing in season 2 of ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’.
In Episode 7, Belly and Jeremiah finally kissed after days of building up major sexual tension. ICYMI, the scene went something like this: Belly asked Jeremiah if he’d ever give her a “second chance,” he told her that she and Conrad have unfinished business, Belly insisted she was done romanticizing Conrad and ready for something “real”… and boom, they kissed — and it wasn’t exactly a tame peck. Mid-kiss, Jeremiah’s hands went to Belly’s neck and waist, prompting a looot of emotions from fans of the show. “the hand on the waist & neck was wildddd,” one fan wrote on TikTok. “mans was going IN,” another commented.
Belly’s kiss with Jeremiah is a gradual development. He’s sure that she still has feelings for his older brother, Conrad, but she’s also dealing with her own problems. She gets into a massive fight with her mother, Laurel (Jackie Chung), who slaps her. At that point, Jeremiah tries to comfort her, though he has disagreements with Conrad that have nothing to do with Belly.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike), Tung reacted to the big development in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2, episode 7. The episode sees Conrad accidentally interrupting his brother’s heated kiss with Belly. Tung: “I think that’s one thing that Belly had trouble with with Conrad, the communication aspect of it, so she feels safer and more heard in this relationship with Jeremiah. For her, it was a win. Obviously seeing Conrad shocked was like, ‘Aw, sorry you were in the dark about this, buddy.’ But I think it was a good Belly-Jeremiah moment.”
