Nude Cyclists Participate In World Naked Bike Ride Held In Capitol Square.. Hundreds of cyclists took to the streets of Bristol to celebrate the World Naked Bike Ride. The cyclists took from Full Moon and Attic Bar at 12.30 pm, heading to A38 towards Cabot Circus. They ended their tour at the harbour opposite the SS Great Britain after which they returned to the pub where they started at.
Most of the participants went completely naked and only wore shoes, a healthy dose of sunscreen and bike helmets. Some riders also had body paint and had inscribed messages like “I’m your naked neighbour” on their backs, arms and legs.
World Naked Bike Ride is an annual event designed to raise awareness of safer cycling and body positivity. The annual event is billed as a celebration of bicycles that highlights the vulnerability of cyclists on congested roads.

The event has been held since 2004 except for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event seeks to campaign for environmental sustainability and improved conditions for cyclists riding in busy cities. The event has promoted a number of causes including personal freedom, inclusivity and body positivity.
Nude cyclists take to the streets of more than 200 cities including Melbourne, Sao Paolo, Vienna, Vancouver, Paris and Copenhagen. Critics took to social media calling the event disgusting and asking officials to put an end to the event terming it as disgusting.
A certain user tweeted: ‘I don’t agree with this bike ride. #bristol #perverts.’Another user described the participants to be ‘total attention desperados’, and another user said one should ‘lock them all up’.
Kinzelman, who has gone to naked bike rides in Milwaukee described the biking experience as really liberating.“When you start chatting with people, it’s like you forget they’re naked, you’re just communicating, like normal people communicate. It’s a really non-judgmental group. Nobody’s looking at what kind of body type you have. We’re just getting together and having fun.”
