Jeon Jung Kook, aka Jungkook, was born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea. Initially, he aspired to be a badminton player, but after watching South Korean rapper, G-Dragon’s performance of Heartbreaker on TV in 2009, he was motivated to pursue a career in singing. In 2011, Jungkook auditioned for the reality show, Superstar K, but unfortunately could not make it to the cast. However, he received various offers from entertainment companies and eventually became a trainee with Big Hit Entertainment. Jungkook also starred in Jo Kwon’s I’m Da One music video in 2012 as a background dancer.


Jungkook also lent his voice to one of the official songs for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His song, Dreamers, was an instant hit among the audience and reigned on all music as well as social media charts. Jungkook is one of the seven members of the popular K-pop boy band, BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bangtan Boys).
