The moment has finally arrived, Luffy’s transformation into GEAR5 will finally be arriving in the One Piece TV anime on August 6 and to hype fans up even more than they already, a teaser for the episode was released for One Piece Day today. Better check your heart cause that sound is it thumping hard!

The ONE PIECE manga by Eiichiro Oda first began in July 1997, and the legendary series exceeded 500 million circulating copies in August this year. It also celebrated the 25th anniversary last year, while the anime adaptation started in October 1999 and is also still going strong. The previous estimate for the manga ending was 4-5 years back in 2020. The manga currently has 1087 chapters, while the anime is at 1069 episodes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, and Crunchyroll streams the anime. They describe the story:
Monkey. D. Luffy refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become the king of all pirates.

The “peak” of Luffy’s power will be showcased in episode 1,071 of the One Piece TV anime, which is set to air in Japan on August 6 and streamed on Crunchyroll soon after. Before then, get a tease of the peak of Luffy’s power in One Piece Film Red, which is set to stream here on Crunchyroll on July 27.

Prior to the announcement, a new trailer for the ONE PIECE Netflix live-action was revealed. The main cast also did a session of live voice-overs for some scenes, which included the audience in fun ways. They were then joined by Hiro Shimono (adult Momonosuke) and Megumi Han (Tama-chan) on the scene for the Land of Wano Behind the Scenes Special.
