“1989 (Taylor’s Version)” has reportedly sold over 200,000 copies in pre-orders (based on estimations)


“1989 (Taylor’s Version)” has reportedly sold over 200,000 copies in pre-orders (based on estimations).


“To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!” Her 1989 album boasts of several chart-topper tracks, such as ‘Blank Space’, ‘Wildest Dreams’, ‘Style’, ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Shake It Off’.

Taylor Swift sent fans into meltdown at her final show at the SoFi Stadium in California, after announcing a release date for the re-recorded version of her 2014 album, 1989.


The singer confirmed online speculation at the event in Los Angeles on Wednesday August 9, written as 8/9 in the US.

As the show neared its end, Swift thanked fans for their ongoing support as she continues with the ambitious task of reclaiming her entire back catalogue.

“I hear so many people talking about how much they wanted to come to the show because of you guys, and the joy and the friendship and the openheartedness with which you guys have approached this tour,” she said.

Named ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’, the album will feature songs from the original version that she has now re-recorded, as well as some brand new ones from her ‘vault’. She told fans: “Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th.

It is not the first album she has re-recorded however. She has also done her own versions of Fearless, from 2008, Speak Now, from 2010 and Red, from 2012.

The singer-songwriter is also set to re-record a version of her very first album, Taylor Swift, from 2006. As well as her 2017 album Reputation – most famous for her smash hits ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, ‘End Game’, and ‘…Ready for It?’
