Mario Kart World
Mario Kart is a staple among Nintendo consoles but once you make it open world with beautiful new graphics, thanks to the Switch 2, you have Mario Kart World, an epic driving game where racing is purely optional, but fun is practically guaranteed (unless you’re not great at controlling the karts).
You can pick between tons of different, well-known, adorable characters, drive around with your friends, or just work on picking up all the collectables, like Yoshi’s meals, to gain new skins. Either way, this racing game doesn’t have to be the frantic friend-ending game it used to be. It can be whatever you make it, all while still feeling like the Mario Kart you know and love.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
While it may not be as cozy as cotton, silk is still pretty good, especially when it’s Hollow Knight: Silksong, perhaps one of the most anticipated games for both the Switch 2 and any other platform it chooses to release on.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania adventure game by Team Cherry, the creators behind the legendary 2017 adventure, Hollow Knight. The first iteration was such a huge success that millions of fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel’s release. While Team Cherry has been pretty tight-lipped over the release, it’s finally coming to the Switch 2, and we can’t wait.
Donkey Kong Bananza
Donkey Kong Bonanza is a brand new entry in the series exclusive to Switch 2.Nothing says Nintendo quite like Donkey Kong, and after 11 years without a mainline game, we’ve finally got a new game coming. Donkey Kong Bananza features the beloved ape as he seeks to recover stolen banana-shaped diamonds from a group of villainous monkeys.
It’s a beautiful-looking platform game that features all the destructive adventure and careful climbing that cemented Donkey Kong games as one of the greats. When it releases in July 2025, thousands of players will be getting in their comfiest cotton clothing and settling down for a night of barrel smashing and cliff climbing.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
NintendoThe last main Metroid game we had was over 17 years ago, so when Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was announced for the Switch 2, it’s safe to say fans were unbelievably hyped. This action adventure game comes from one of the most renowned franchises in gaming history, and it looks just as epic as you would expect.
Battle enemies as the legendary Samus Aran, one of the greatest bounty hunters in the galaxy as you explore ancient jungles and find a way home. There are puzzles, intense fights, and what looks to be a thrilling story, making Metroid Prime 4: Beyond a game you can’t miss.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A
THE POKEMON COMPANYA new console release wouldn’t be complete without a new Pokemon game, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A looks like one to remember. Complete with stunning new graphics, tons of adorable Pokemon, a beautiful new location, and the notable transition from turn-based combat to real-time, Legends Z-A could be a franchise-defining adventure.
If you’re looking to get cozy under a nice cotton blanket or in your favorite cotton pajamas, then Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be the game to accompany that comfort. After all, what says cozy like exploring Lumiose City with adorable pocket monsters?
