Superman is poised to be one of the biggest movies of 2025, and with just over a month to go until it hits cinemas, you’re probably curious about when you can get your hands on tickets.
The DCEU is dead, and the DCU is about to begin (if you don’t count Creature Commandos). James Gunn’s Superman will kick off a new era of DC on the big screen, with David Corenswet replacing Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel.
It’s one of three massive movies coming to theaters in July, jostling for audiences’ attention alongside Jurassic World Rebirth and, perhaps most of all, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the long-awaited arrival of Marvel’s first family.
Here’s the thing: Fantastic Four doesn’t come out until July 25, and Superman is in cinemas from July 11, but Fantastic Four tickets are already available.
When are Superman tickets on sale?
Superman tickets are expected to go on sale on June 12. Why? Because that’s Superman Day!
In fairness, there are two days dedicated to celebrating Superman every year. The first is on April 18, a date commemorating the publication of Action Comics #1 and the first-ever appearance of Superman.
June 12’s connection to Superman is more recent. In 2013, this was when Man of Steel hit theaters, so DC Comics hyped its release date as “Man of Steel Day”, and it’s been recognized as another Superman Day for over 10 years.
Warner Bros released a behind-the-scenes look at the new movie on April 18, so it’d make sense if tickets for Superman become available to buy on June 12.
Also, there’s a good chance we’ll get a final trailer for the film. According to the BBFC, a new trailer for Superman was given a PG rating on June 3, so expect that to drop online when tickets go on sale.
While Superman is supposedly tracking to have one of the biggest box office openings of the year, we won’t know how big it could be until we see its pre-sales performance. According to one insider, it needs to break a big record for it to be considered profitable.
