Zulu king gets visit from ANC delegation

Zulu king Misuzulu kaZwelithini received a surprise visit from an ANC delegation. The delegation included the top brass from KwaZulu Natal.

The purpose of the visit was not highlighted but the delegation was led by KZN regional premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube.

There were other high profile figures in the team who comprised of provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo.

The delegation arrived at the palace around 11am and they were ushered in to meet the King and have a private audience with him

In other traditional leadership news, Dr Ntsizakalo Ngalo, the spokesperson for the Amampondo royal family faction supporting the late King Tyelovuyo Zanozuko Sigcau’s mother Nkosikazi Nobandla Sigcau as acting queen, has resigned to pursue other commitments.

He announced his resignation on Facebook and other social media platforms on Sunday, adding he is also no longer the chiefof-staff of Nobandla’s office.

In July, he launched the Dr Ntsizakalo Ngalo Foundation. “I have not been fired or forced to resign, but this is the decision I have taken for myself to spend some time in other endeavours as well as my foundation.

“I have embarked on a mission to assist Amampondo development on another platform,” the 55year-old Ngalo said.

He thanked Nobandla and her royal family for their support during his tenure, adding that he now wanted to focus on his activism.

“I am the ANC’S Kaizana Tambo branch executive committee member. I am also a developmental specialist whose calling is to assist communities.

“People can have different opinions but should be united in embracing development in our kingdom.

“The Mthentu and Msikiba bridges, as well cannabis farming are our megga projects that will help us to develop our community,” he said.

This is the latest development coming through from that kingdom.
