TikTok sensation Mandisi Tshingana is on his way to national stardom after being nominated for a DStv award.
Tshingana, 27, solves engineering problems during the day in his job in KwaZulu-Natal, and creates and edits videos in his down time.
He said he had grown up wanting to become a lawyer.
“I never really saw myself as an engineer. I went to a technical school and they offered all these technical subjects for people who wanted to branch into engineering, and I did none of them, I went the commerce route.
“My teachers also tried to convince me in Grade 10 to change subjects, but I refused.
“Finally, I gave in and decided to do physics but still keep accounting. I did so well in physics that my family insisted I do engineering at varsity.”
A few years later, Tshingana has fallen in love with his job and the challenges that come with it.
Tshingana describes himself as a quiet person who is not particularly sociable, preferring to stay home and watch TV and edit his TikTok content.
The TikTok star stands out with his signature look — in a domestic worker’s uniform.
He is considered as one of the most funniest South African’s on TikTok.
