The term Queen is often used to describe someone of royalty , a wife to the King is a queen to be exact. However the term “Slay Queen” has become very popular among the youths of today. I always wondered what could the term slay queen mean? Does it have anything to do with queens slaying something. There are many descriptions to it while it differs with individuals , however at some point it is often misused bacsue some people don’t real know what it real means , so I searched to try and find real meaning behind the term slay queen.
I always though a slay queen was a term used to describe a very beautiful , successful young lady who lives a very lavish party lifestyle wears expensive clothes and fancy weavs caring expensive Gucci bags , popular on social media platforms like instagram , Facebook and Twitter. Always seen around exclusive places for high classy people but then again that’s what thought a slay queen was. However I see broke sisters from the lower class places calling themselves slay queens. That’s when I realised that I don’t real know what is a slay queen. Which led me to doing a research to find the actually meaning of the term slay queen.
Well according to wikitionary as you can see in the screenshot above. It defines a slay queen as a young gold digger who is active on social media and always pretends to afford expensive luxurious lifestyle.
Then again according to Urban Dictionary a slay queen is described as a simply woman who seem fashionable. I guess there many different meaning given to the term slay queen. I guess we can all agree to disagree , well you can leave a comment below and share your views.
