Watch — Zimbabwe Information Minister Unknowingly Exposes Zimbabwe Government as Dictatorial

Zimbabwe’s Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa has granted an explosive interview with South African TV channel Newzoom Afrika news anchor Cathy Mohlahlana. Cathy Mohlahlana asked the minister about the recent amendment to the criminal code law in Zimbabwe, asking why the amendment. The minister said that the amendment was necessary so that every Zimbabwean must love the country. She said that with the recent amendment, you can’t go about talking bad about Zimbabwe and the government. She claimed that Zimbabweans are moving in droves out of the country as immigrants or, in some cases, economic refugees because they are “educated”. In other words, all Zimbabweans, including those desperately and joylessly roaming the streets in Hillbrow, down town Durban, Pretoria and Cape Town slums, for instance, are there simply because they are educated and due to pull factors. The Zimbabwe Information Minister’s interview is already trending as people are convinced that since the time of Robert Mugabe, nothing much has changed.

Even Zimbabwe’s main opposition CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said:

“To go onto international television and argue that we are enacting an unconstitutional patriotic law because ‘America has one’ was patriotic indeed.

The incompetence & failure to make a cogent case are breathtaking. We need new leaders.” Some Zimbabweans on Twitter have described the interview as unfortunate, saying that the government of President Emerson Mnangagwa is not different from that of Robert Mugabe. They noted that the amended criminal code law is particularly put in place to silence critics of the government. Now, by putting the law in place, no one can talk bad or call out the Dictatorial government, even if it’s on social media, such a person would be fished out and face the music.
