Trevor Noah Must Stop Using Blacks to Get Ahead, Says NOTA
In a scathing attack on the popular comedian, NOTA, a successful music executive, has accused Trevor Noah of using black people to get ahead in his career.
“He was used as a tool to destroy Jacob Zuma’s reputation,” NOTA said. “Now he’s using his platform to spread division and hatred among black people.”
NOTA’s comments come after Noah made a number of controversial remarks about black South Africans in recent weeks. In one joke, he compared black people to “animals” who are “still learning how to behave in a civilized society.”
Noah’s comments have sparked outrage among many black South Africans, who have accused him of racism and disrespect. NOTA is among those who have been most vocal in their criticism of Noah.
“He’s a disgrace to the black community,” NOTA said. “He should be ashamed of himself.”
NOTA also called on people to stop defending Noah. “If you defend him, you’re part of the problem,” he said. “We need to stand up to people like him and let them know that their racism will not be tolerated.”
It remains to be seen how Noah will respond to NOTA’s criticism. However, it is clear that the comedian’s latest remarks have caused a deep rift between him and the black community in South Africa.
In a statement released on Twitter, Noah said that he was “deeply sorry” for the pain his words had caused. He also said that he would be taking a break from social media to “reflect on my actions.”
It remains to be seen whether Noah’s apology will be enough to repair the damage that has been done. However, it is clear that his latest remarks have had a significant impact on the way that he is perceived by many black South Africans.
