Gayton McKenzie has told a TimesLIVE journalist that if he becomes president or his political party, the Patriotic Alliance (PA) becomes the ruling party, he will mandate everyone to carry a pass or an ID to distinguish foreigners, especially illegal immigrants and undocumented migrants, so that he can easily carry out mass deportation. The former mayor of Central Karoo said that it will be similar to the pass or identity card used during the apartheid called dompas. The Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader and president noted that other countries are doing it; hence it will not be strange if he enacts it. Gayton McKenzie is highly regarded as one of the most xenophobic political leaders in South Africa and often carries out his campaign using illegal immigrants and undocumented foreigners as his main manifesto build up, with little or no mention of the economy. This is what the emotional voters want to hear.
