Former AD, Masizole Mnqasela, who left the party recently after a bitter contest, described the party as one of the biggest challenges he had to overcome in his lifetime. Masizole Mnqasela, who later joined the new civilian group, said he faced obstacles within the AD that prevented him from fully implementing his beliefs and values. He said he decided to leave the political party that blocked him after careful consideration.
The former DA chief revealed that those outside the party would think the party was a paradise and a bed of roses, saying that was far from the case. Similarly, former DA adviser Anco Barker, who also defied the party, made similar allegations against the party. Many people who leave the Democratic Alliance still give the same reason for leaving the party. For former councilor Anco Barker, she said the party prevented her from being herself.
Masizole Mnqasela, who shared his history with the Democratic Alliance, said he was wronged by the party he gave everything to. They also saw how I was wronged, how I was treated, where it was so bad that I had to endure a lot of pain and suffering. They said, “You deserve better”.
