Some years ago, the government of KwaZulu-Natal province established committee to deal with the political killings in the province. At first it was seen working but now after few years of that team, the political killings in that province seems to be continuing.
In 2018, the Inkatha Freedom Party once released the statement arguing that they are quite concerned by the fact that councillors killings may be politically motivated and they call on the law enforcement agencies at this point in time to expedite their investigations, including but not limited to this one as spate of political killings in KwaZulu-Natal is spiralling out of control.
But since then, we have been seen councillors of both Inkatha Freedom Party and African National Congress killed.
Today it has been reported that, The Inkatha Freedom Party has expressed sadness and regret following the gunning down of yet another one of its councellors. Innocent Mkhwanazi was recently shot and killed on his way to St Lucia in Durban.
