OPINION| These guys should be stripped off their ranks

Something is bothering me and I hope someone will help me understand this, seemingly complicated story I hope I’m not the only one bothered about this matter. This is the story of our Deputy President’s blue light brigade which went on an assault spree on the N1 highway.

The said blue light brigade has or is to hand themselves over to the Sandton police as a consequence of criminal charges laid against them by the IPID, the police watchdog to this point, I don’t know who the victims of the highway assault are nor am I aware who and what their names are. I’m not even certain if they, themselves actually laid criminal charges against the highway brigade. What I do understand though, it that they are attached to the SANDF I also saw a glimpse of some lawyer who said he was representing some of themSurely, you will agree with me that this case is of serious public interest and by now, we aught to be in the know about the victims themselves, more than the IPID. One other peculiar thing that took place is that, after the assault of their victims, the highway brigade took from the victims car, a bag the question is, what were the contents of that bag? If those victims committed any crime leading to their apprehension and ultimate assault, wasn’t it prudent for the highway brigade, who are police officers in their own right, to either lay a criminal charge or cause such charges to be laid, this just boggles the mind

That bag is a bag of interest and should be investigated, in my view could it be that those highway brigade victims were suspected to be on some spying assignment on the Deputy President and that, they happened to be court and, as a result got assaulted and their tools of trade had to be confisticated, there seems to be more questions that answers in this matter
