Operation Dudula, which has been condemned for its xenophobic tendencies, is getting ready to launch a Western Cape department on Saturday.
The group says it’s taking again jobs from foreigners to assist handle the excessive unemployment price amongst South Africans, experiences IOL.
The launch will happen on the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Zonnebloem Parking, at 10am.
The motion is led by 36-year-old Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini.
Labelled by some as “xenophobic and dangerous”, Operation Dudula was based in Soweto a couple of months after the July riots that erupted when former president Jacob Zuma was sentenced to jail for contempt of court docket final 12 months.
On June 16 in Soweto, they focused suspected drug traffickers and companies that allegedly employed unlawful foreigners to be able to pay them low wages.
The Western Cape coordinator, Jonathan Baju, mentioned the launch was impressed by the dearth of employment alternatives for South Africans and a rise in drug abuse within the townships.
“There are loads of unlawful immigrants right here in Cape Town, in Khayelitsha, Nyanga, Philippi.
“You will realize that almost all South Africans are not working. Some of them look as if they are mad because of the drugs,” he mentioned.
“When you see recognized drug sellers, you’ll understand that a lot of them are overseas nationals.
“When you look at the job market (foreign nationals are) everywhere, in each and every industry. They are too much.”
Thabiso Chere, the chairperson of the Tembisa department, confirmed the launch and mentioned: “The foreign (nationals) need to go back and fix their countries.”
Following strain from civil society teams, President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned Operation Dudula, describing them as a “vigilante-type” that wants “to be stopped”.
