As Zimbabwe readies itself for the presidential elections on 23 August, interest is growing.
A number of candidates have already filed their nomination papers.
It is set to be a two horse race between current president Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zanu PF), Nelson Chamisa of the Coalition for Citizens Change (CCC).
But a dark horse could spring in the form of former minister during Mugabe’s era Saviour Kasukuwere.
MR Egypt Dzinemunhenzwa is relatively not very popular in Zimbabwe but he is the only candidate to have contested the elections since the nineties.
He is the president of the Forces for the Liberation Organisation of Africa National Party.
Dzinemunhenzva said his party was formed during the Rhodesian Front government era where black majority rule was unheard of.
He is also set to throw in his hat for the presidential race this year. That is if he manages to raise the US$20 000 nomination fee.
This is set to be one of the tightly contested elections in Zimbabwe’s history since independence.
Mr Chamisa, Professor Lovemore Madhuku of the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA), Mr Douglas Mwonzora of the MDC-T, Mr Robert Chapman of the Democratic Union of Zimbabwe (DUZ) and Ms Elisabeth Valerio of the United Zimbabwe Alliance are likely to file their papers.
Dzinemunhenzva could be a very big underdog.
