Meet the 12-year-old South African who is making waves in Ireland

Another South African talent is causing waves in Europe and she is getting massive media attention.

The 12-year-old girl is serenading the stage with her amazing singing talent and she is destined for greatness.

Her name is Niamh Beatrix Smith and having moved to Ireland with her parents some four years ago, she found her calling in music.

Niamh has earned South African colours for the performing arts, was awarded best junior overall vocalist at the Talent Africa Championships, represented Ireland in the Oscar Hammerstein International Musical Theatre Solo Finals.

She has also appeared on many shows were she has had the pleasure of performing and being recognized.

Niamh has definitely embraced the Irish life and it is working well in her favour.

During a question and answer interview, she did admit that her parents had played a massive role in her musical journey.

I think it’s important to sing for the right reasons and to use your gift to shine a light on the things you love, which, in my case, is music, family and children who need an extra helping hand. My parents also remind me that I am not my voice – that singing is just one small part of who I am, which helps with the pressure,”

Niamh added that she does not know were she will be when she is 20. That is in terms of her singing talent.

But she is extremely grateful of all the opportunities that are opening up which could spring her into the future. She is determined to become a global sensation.
