African National Congress secretary general, Fikile Mbalula has reacted to a video of former ANC heavyweight, Ace Magashule celebrating the victory of the Economic Freedom Fighters in Free State province.
Magashule in the video could be heard saying that it was him who told his ANC supporters in the Free State province not to vote for the ruling party, but vote for the Economic Freedom Fighters in a by-election which saw the red berets emerging.
These utterances by Ace Magashule sparked a debate on social media as some were saying that the African National Congress did a great job by kicking him out of the party. Some said he cannot be trusted as he talks too much, and lacks the quality that a leader should have.
ANC secretary general, Fikile Mbalula is one of the people who reacted to the video of Ace Magashule bragging about how he played a role in the victory of the red berets in a by-election in Free State province.
Mbalula said this is exactly the reason why he is not going to meet with Ace Magashule or listen to him. Fikile Mbalula has been accusing the former party secretary general of sowing divisions within the movement and wanting to cause chaos.
“Why should i meet with this man who plotted from day one in office the downfall of the ANC. Here he is celebrating the defeat of the ANC through his support,” said Mbalula.
ANC comrade in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province, Nathi Sithole however, slammed Fikile Mbalula saying he is now a gossiper as he is following what Ace Magashule is doing.
“You are now a gossiper and you are following Ace Magashule everywhere he goes and you call yourself a leader? Leading with gossips? You removed him in the ANC what do you want now?” Sithole said.
