Chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province has revealed that more ANC members in the province will join their party before 2024 elections.

He said this during a rally they held on Sunday where several ANC comrades also joined Inkatha Freedom Party. It seems the 2024 elections are going to be interesting for the ruling party looking at the trend that is happening.

The Inkatha Freedom Party chairperson in Kwa-Zulu Natal province had ANC t-shirts in his hand, while taking swipe at the ruling party and how their members will continue to join the opposition. African National Congress in the province has not responded to this, but critics feel they will do so at the appropriate time.

KwaZulu-Natal province is one of the important provinces for the ANC, and they would not want to see their members continue joining the Inkatha Freedom Party because they are not happy with what is happening within their own movement.

IFP is, however, experiencing it’s own challenges in the province as well. One of its former leaders is going to be contesting as an independent candidate in the upcoming by-elections.

Unable to take part in the upcoming three by-elections, the National Freedom Party in Kwa-Zulu Natal province has instructed its supporters to back the independent candidate at Ward 5, Vusi Mkhize. He is the former councillor who was fired by the Inkatha Freedom Party.

Reasons for him getting fired from the party are that he allegedly worked with the ANC after taking a R100 000 bribe. In the other two wards, 14 and 21, the National Freedom Party has instructed its supporters to vote for ANC candidates.

2024 elections are going to be interesting, the opposition believe they now have what it takes to topple ANC which has been a ruling party for years.
