The Government of Gauteng ably led by Premier Panyaza Lesufi have continued to work tirelessly to improve the security situation of the province following a rise in violent crime which has marred economic development within the province over the years.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi recently inaugurated a security outfit known as Crime Prevention Wardens and the security outfit was saddled with the responsibility of assisting police in cracking down criminal syndicates operating within the province, though the primary duties of the operatives were not clearly defined by government.
In an emerging report, report reaching our news desk from Gauteng suggest that the Premier Panyaza Lesufi has finally institutionalized the operations of Crime Prevention Wardens. The Gauteng government just listed its main aim of setting up Crime Prevention Wardens in the province.
The Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens will assist in addressing criminal activities including, but not limited to;
1) illegal land occupation and lawlessness
2) Damage to state infrastructure and Vandalism
3) Gender Based Violence and Femicide, amongst others.
The above clarification made by government of Gauteng will help citizens to better understand the major responsibility of Crime Prevention Wardens and why the Government decided to set them.
