One of the world’s most renowned sports star is set to visit Zimbabwe.
Known as Mr Money, Floyd Mayweather is set to visit Zimbabwe and he is going to be hosted by a Zanu PF heavyweight.
Zanu PF is set to contest in next months presidential elections and this has left many people questioning the timing of Mayweather’s visit.
He is set to be hosted by business man and politician Scott Pedzisayi Sakupwanya who appeared in the Al Jazeera gold mafia documentary.
Sakupwanya is the councillor for Mabvuku, a suburb in Harare. He’s vying for a parliamentary seat at the upcoming general elections on 23 August.
Mayweather has since confirmed his Zimbabwe trip stating that he will be in that country on the 13th and 14th of July.
He is also set to visit South Africa shortly after his Zimbabwean visit.
Mayweather is well known for being expensive when it comes to hiring him.
Sakupwanya rose to prominence in 2020, when pictures of him posing with gold bars and money amounting to what was said to be $5 million in cash went viral. His flashy lifestyle is similar to that of Mayweather.
When converted to Rands, the amount of money he had at his disposal was R94 million.
Mayweather made a name for himself when he bowed out of boxing undefeated. He is one of the highest paid sports personalities of all time.
