Elvis Nyathi’s Family Remember Him One Year after he was Murdered by Members of Operation Dudula

Elvis Nyathi also known as Mbodazwe Banajo was a Zimbabwean economic refugee who à in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg in South Africa. He was killed during Xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals by citizens of South Africa. Elvis Nyathi was beaten and burnt alive by a mob of demonstrators in Diepsloot, Johannesburg on 6 April 2022.

Report had it that the young man was fast at sleep at his house with wife and children when some persons believed to be members of operation dudula invaded and dragged him out of his house, beat him mercilessly and set him on fire.

However, it’s been over one year since the incident took place and nothing has been done to bring justice to the deceased man’s family.

Elvis Nyathi’s wife who spoke with news correspondents complained that all effort to prosecute suspected killers of her husband has proven abortive. She went on to advise members of South African police and the judiciary to speed up the court processes that would ensure the killers of her husband are brought to book as soon as possible.
