This particular instance here probably made people understand that artists can never make it too clear that they are affiliated with a certain political party.
This does not benefit them and it does not matter how one decides to look at it and the Malinga situation has proven this to an extent.
No one really paid attention to when it comes to political events, people do not really care whether an artist is performing at an ANC event or an EFF event.
It did not matter that much until recently and you would know that there are certain artists that would never see at ANC functions.
At one point, we thought that singer Malinga would never perform for the ANC, he even assured people on Twitter/X that he will never be seen at an ANC function.
He did not owe anyone any loyalty in this instance because it is understandable that he has to offer entertain and take away the politics.
But he made it seem like he was frustrated with the ruling party just as much as most people are and he probably was, we would not know.
Everything that happens under the ANC government affects us all, it does not matter whether you are an artist or not.
When Malinga asked for donations and he was going through some financial difficulties, people pointed out that this could be because the ANC does not care about artists as they should.
These conversations were had and it was transparent, people expected the singer to understand this. He probably did, but when it comes to the bag, he has to make the decision that ensures that him and his family eat.
And it is necessary sometimes that one distances himself from the politics if they do not have the sufficient understanding and you could say that this applies in this instance.
