On Tuesday, Nomsa Marchesi made the announcement that she would be resigning from her position as an MP for the Democratic Alliance (DA). She will be joining Rise Mzansi, whose top leader is her former colleague from the Democratic Alliance, Makashule Gana.For Rise Mzansi, she will serve as the convenor for the Free State. She added that the reason she joined Rise Mzansi was because it was welcoming to people from all cultures and represented their points of view.
On the other hand, I’ve recently realised that I’ve been looking for a political platform that would be more inclusive and representative of the different perspectives and concerns expressed by the people of South Africa.
This path has brought me to RISE Mzansi, a new and vibrant people-centered political alternative that strongly resonates with my vision for the South Africa we deserve and my belief in its potential to truly interact with all sectors of South Africa, which is the reason for this big shift to RISE Mzansi. She went on to say that she is overjoyed to become a part of the Rise Mzansi organisation.
