The gathering follows remarks made by Brigety, asserting that South Africa had offered arms to Russia, which Moscow supposedly utilized in its attack of Ukraine.
Russia and South Africa have both denied Brigety’s claims since. The party firmly reiterated its geopolitical stance during a meeting between Brigety’s office and ANC secretary general Fikile Mbalula. Mahlengi Bhengu, ANC spokesperson, stated that Brigety apologized for his remarks during the meeting.
“Comrade Naledi Pandor, the minister of international relations in the republic, reiterated the ambassador’s apology. While the gathering was genial, the SG solidly repeated the centralism of the ANC’s way to deal with worldwide relations, and a position is established in the public popularity based upheaval.”
