Du-Pont, who recently filed a case of rape against Jub Jub, detailed the harrowing experiences she endured during their relationship in a statement submitted to the police.
According to du-Pont’s statement, the first incident of rape occurred in 2007 when she spurned Jub Jub’s sexual advances, expressing her desire to wait until marriage. In a horrifying turn of events, Jub Jub allegedly raped her at her Auckland Park apartment. Following this traumatic incident, she claims that he returned, demanding sex, and when she refused, he raped her once more.
In an even more distressing revelation, du-Pont recounted an incident later in 2007 when her younger sister was sleeping on the floor of her apartment, and her 11-year-old sister shared the bed with her. Allegedly, Jub Jub entered the apartment, jumped onto her bed, and raped her in the presence of her own sisters.
Despite these horrifying experiences, du-Pont claimed that in 2008, she and Jub Jub moved in together into a house in Bassonia, south of Johannesburg. However, the nightmare continued when she stated that Jub Jub raped her again, this time in the presence of his sister. Later that year, du-Pont revealed that she became pregnant with Jub Jub’s child but chose to terminate the pregnancy due to the unbearable circumstances.
Tragically, du-Pont expressed that she reached a point where she contemplated taking her own life by overdosing on pills. She claimed that Jub Jub continued to rape her until she made a second suicide attempt. In another disturbing incident, she recounted an encounter where Jub Jub allegedly physically assaulted her, accusing her of infidelity. According to du-Pont’s statement, he violently choked and suffocated her until she lost consciousness.
These deeply troubling allegations have cast a spotlight on the issue of intimate partner violence and the enduring trauma survivors may face. The case is set to go to trial in the Johannesburg magistrate’s court in November, where the full extent of the allegations will be examined.
