Actress Jessica Nkosi is a victim of internet trolls

South African actress Jessica Nkosi has recently expressed her frustration and anger after discovering an imposter using her name to spread false information and bash celebrities on social media. Despite her efforts to report the fake account, Nkosi has been unable to find a resolution, leading her to speak out about the issue. With concerns about potential repercussions within the industry, Nkosi aims to raise awareness and seek assistance from Facebook in addressing this troubling situation.

In an interview with ZiMoja, Nkosi revealed that she does not have a Facebook account and is well aware of the imposter using her name on the platform. Unfortunately, she has encountered multiple obstacles while attempting to report the account. Expressing her frustration, Nkosi stated, “I have been trying to report this account for years now, and I am not winning because Facebook won’t help me.” Despite her efforts, the fake account remains active, causing distress and confusion among fans and industry colleagues.

The imposter Facebook account, named Jessica Nkosi-Queen Qondi Isibaya, was established several years ago and has since been sharing fabricated and sometimes insensitive news about South African celebrities. Nkosi emphasized that these posts do not align with her true character, expressing her disappointment that anyone would use her name to harm others and seek attention. She reiterated, “I don’t bash people and will never do that, that’s not who I am, and a lot of people know that.”

Nkosi voiced her concerns about the potential consequences this imposter account could have on her relationships with industry colleagues. She recounted an incident where DJ Zinhle contacted her after the fake account falsely reported that she was closing her stores. While DJ Zinhle was understanding, Nkosi worries that others might misinterpret the false information and misunderstand her intentions. She highlighted the need for people to be cautious and aware that she is not responsible for the Facebook account spreading harmful content.

In her efforts to combat this impersonation and prevent any further harm, Nkosi wants to alert the public about the existence of the imposter account. She hopes that Facebook will step in and provide the necessary support to address the issue promptly. Nkosi expressed concern about the imposter potentially using her name to solicit money from unsuspecting individuals. Urging Facebook to take action before it is too late, she emphasized the importance of resolving the situation to protect her reputation and the well-being of her followers.
