ActionSA leader distances himself from hiring illegal immigrants

An ActionSA leader from KwaZulu Natal has distanced himself from the illegal hiring of undocumented foreign nationals.

The leader has been named as Faizel Cassim and he stood accused the party’s mayoral candidate for Newcastle municipality.

Allegations against Cassim are that he was in the habit of hiring illegal immigrants at his laundry business.

This was disclosed by a whistle blower and Cassim has since denied the allegations which are being levelled against him.

He told the media that the allegations were a smear campaign against his political standing by jealous people.

In other news, For almost two decades a gang known as the Oonontwayibonwa has unleashed a reign of terror including killing, raping, robbing and stock theft. Provincial government spokesperson Khuselwa Rantjie said Mabuyane and his cabinet would update communities on the government’s response to the criminality.

“The rise in sexual assault, rape and robberies targeting vulnerable members of the community as well as stock theft has warranted traditional leaders in the area to seek strengthened government support,” Rantjie said.

Traditional leaders hope this will not disintegrate into another talk show, but see action and promises fulfilled. Mthatha traditional leader local forum chair Nkosi Zwelithobile Mtirara wrote a memo on August 4 to government leaders requesting urgent intervention.

Community safety MEC Xolile Nqatha had already promised the status of the Bhityi police station would be raised to secure more resources.

Mabuyane recently said he would advocate for resources to be allocated to protect communities.
