In an unverified video posted by Azimio TV on its Facebook page, a UDA supporter from Kipkelion sub-county in Kericho county is seen lamenting concerning the current state of the economy and the lies peddled by the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He recalled that they supported UDA and affiliate parties because of their manifestos and the hope they sold to Kenyans about reviving the economy. He however expressed his disappointments and regrets for electing the current administration as prices of things go higher than expected when the Kenya Kwanza administration took over the helm of power.
” During campaigns you promised us hustlers that you will reduce the cost of living but upon taking power instead of prices for commodities going down, you upscaled the prices” the unnamed supporter of UDA lamented on social media.
Concerning the promise made by the President about dropping the price of cooking gas, the supporter accused Ruto of blackmailing them and selling lies to the common mwananchi.
” You promised to reduce the price of cooking gas, but you later changed tune and said that you did not mean cooking gas but the gas cylinder. What do you want me to do with the gas cylinder and yet I already have it, or you want us to store water in it?” He posed a question to the president.
He further advised the president that it is time for him to tell Kenyans the truth and to stop double speaking.
“Mr President, it is time to tell Kenyans the truth” he concluded.
Kenyans continue to brace the high prices of basic commodities. Recently the government increased fuel prices. Other commodities whose prices has spiked include sugar, and maize flour.
