The Azimio La Umoja coalition which is headed by former prime minister Raila Odinga is the current opposition outfit, the Kenya Kwanza allience headed by William Ruto is the government outfit.
The Azimio La Umoja has the support of top Kenyan politicians among them immediate former president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, former defence minister cum the party leader of the Democratic Action Party of Kenya Eugine Wamalwa, Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, former Kakamega governor who serves as the co-deputy party leader of the Orange Democratic Movement Wyclieffe Oparanya, former Murang’a governor who is the party leader of Usawa party Mwangi Wa Iria, Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina among many others.
The Azimio La Umoja coalition has today held a meeting where top principals of the alliance have had time to speak, Wyclieffe Oparanya is among those who have addressed Kenyans.
Wyclieffe Oparanya has told the attendees that there were plans to meet them before Easter as the protests were going on but they were held up and had to ensure that they meet them as soon as possible, the former governor has also revealed plans of bringing all the affliate parties of Azimio on board so that they will not feel left out.
Oparanya has also recalled the events that happened in the last day of protests, he says that is the day he say that the former prime minister will breath his last because of the life bullets that were fired at his car, thanks to his armoured car that got rid of the bullets.
Oparanya has alleged that on the same day, Eugine Wamalwa feared for his life and found refuge in Stephen Kalonzo’s car hoping that it is armoured. He also says that same day Ledama Ole Kina whom they were using the car his life was in danger, a goon holding a gun was getting closer to stab him but luckily their driver was also a police officer and got out his gun which he pointed at the goon who ran away.
