Nuru Okanga is among the vocal supporters of the Azimio La Umoja coalition under the headmanship of Raila Amollo Odinga, Okanga has rose to popularity majorly through the Bunge La Mwananchi platform that usually takes place at Jacaranda grounds in Embakasi East constituency, Nairobi county.
Nuru Okanga went to the Bunge La Mwananchi yesterday as usual, there was a conversation about the ongoing war of words between Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino and Mumias East member of parliament Babu Owino.
Nuru Okanga interrupted Mr. Kimbikimbi who was speaking against Perter Salasya, this saw him chased away from the grounds because most of the people there are supporters of Babu Owino.
Nuru Okanga has today come out to speak about the events of yesterday, he says that he is a friend of both Babu Owino and Peter Salasya and he will not allow anyone to attack either of the two and that is why he stopped Kimbikimbi from insulting Peter Salasya.
Okanga says that Peter Salasya is a member of parliament from the villages and Babu Owino is a member of parliament from the city and when comparing the works of the two, they cannot match. He says that Peter Salasya has done more development in his constituency more especially in education where he is supporting needy students to study different courses, he has watered down the research findings that ranked Peter Salasya number three in development in Kakamega county saying that the Mumias East lawmaker should be on top of the list. He says that for Babu Owino, he is assisted by the city governor to bring development in his constituency which is not the same for Babu Owino.
