A massive showdown is looming in the National Assembly in the coming days as Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Alliance is set to battle with the ruling Kenya Kwanza Alliance administration on the new finance bill that is set to be tabled on the floor of the house for debate.
The opposition coalition led by Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has vowed to oppose the finance bill terming it a burden on Kenyan citizens. Raila declared that he will rally all his troops to reject the finance bill both in the National Assembly and in the Senate.
According to the Sunday Nation, the Azimio la Umoja has vowed to use all means possible to shoot down the finance bill. They have declared that they will also heckle their Kenya Kwanza colleagues s to ensure that the finance bill does not sail through.
National Assembly Deputy Minority Leader Robert Mbui has declared that they are confident that they will emerge victorious in the National Assembly when the bill will be tabled in the House.
He said that this will be the first victory of the Azimio la Umoja coalition against the Kenya Kwanza administration. He also urged the Kenya Kwanza MPs to reject the finance bill because it will add more burden to Kenyans who elected them to office.
This comes after Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga confronted President William Ruto during Mukami’s burial in Nyeri urging him to stop increasing taxes on Kenyans.
