CS Duale Rules Out Uhuru, Gachagua and Ichung’wa Sharing Same Podium at His Special Event

Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) Aden Duale announced on Wednesday, November 10, that former President Uhuru Kenyatta was not invited to his book launch. Duale, set to release his book titled ‘For The Record’ on Thursday, May 11, stated that he did not extend an invitation to his former boss due to concerns of potential disruption.

During his appearance on Citizen TV’s JKLive show, the CS explained that recent behavior displayed by President Kenyatta at the Jubilee offices made him hesitant to invite him. Duale expressed apprehension that Uhuru might disrupt the event if he were to attend. He acknowledged their close friendship and stated that forcibly removing him from the event would be challenging.

Duale disclosed his worries regarding the growing political rivalry in Mount Kenya between the former president and Deputy President William Ruto.

Duale urged Uhuru to watch his book launch on television as his presence might cause displeasure upon seeing DP Gachagua and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa who will be in attendance.

According to the Defence CS, Ruto and his deputy are expected to attend the event, accompanied by prominent politicians from Kenya and dignitaries from around the world. The book chronicles Duale’s political journey from 2007 to 2022, highlighting his rapid ascent in Kenya’s political landscape.
