The Galarian starters’ final stages are getting their Gigantamax forms in Pokemon Go! With the Grass and Fire types’ debuts over, it’s time for the Water-type Gigantamax Inteleon to take the spotlight.
Since the Max Out Season introduced Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon to Niantic’s game, these enormous creatures have continued to debut once every other month.
However, to give worldwide players a treat as the Go Fest 2025 in-person events unfold, the Galarian starters – Rillaboom, Cinderace, and Inteleon – are getting their Gigantamax forms with special global free-to-play events.
Gigantamax Rillaboom and Gigantamax Cinderace already debuted, so it’s time for the Water-type Gigantamax Inteleon to make its entrance during the Phantom Ruins event.
Gigantamax Inteleon weaknesses in Pokemon Go
The incredibly strong Gigantamax Inteleon is a pure Water-type Pokemon, so it’s only weak against Electric and Grass-type moves. Unlike with other bosses, there is a decent amount of Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon that boast the required types, so players should have an easy time building a powerful team.
However, keep in mind that Gigantamax Inteleon can resist Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water-type attacks. So, avoid using those at all costs because they won’t be able to deal much damage.
Remember that only fellow Gigantamax or Dynamax Pokemon are eligible in Max Battles.
Gigantamax Inteleon best counters
Even though Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon are still very new to the game, there are plenty of good choices available to take G-Max Inteleon down.
The absolute best choices are Gigantamax Rillaboom, Toxtricity, and Venusaur, as they can target Gigantamax Inteleon’s weaknesses (Electric and Grass) without playing into any of its resistances.
If you are missing any of those, you can go for their alternate Dynamax forms or switch to another Pokemon from the list. Remember that overall, Gigantamax forms are superior, as they deal way more damage than their Dynamax counterparts.
How to get Gigantamax Inteleon in Pokemon Go
Gigantamax Inteleon will debut during the Phantom Ruins event, which will run from Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM until Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time. This is a global free-to-play event that will be celebrated in parallel with the Go Fest 2025 Paris in-person event.
During that time, G-Max Inteleon will appear as a 6-Star Max Battle boss, and players will be able to challenge it as many times as they want.
Keep in mind that as of May 13, 2025, players can join Max Battles remotely. This means they can use Remote Raid Passes to jump into Power Spots from wherever they are.
To join a Gigantamax battle, players must pay 800 Max Particles, which can be collected from visiting such Power Spots daily. If you fail to defeat the Max Battle boss, the MPs will be returned so you can try again.
These special creatures cannot be caught in their gigantic forms, so after defeating Gigantamax Inteleon, trainers will have the chance to try and catch a regular Inteleon with the Gigantamax ability.
How to evolve Inteleon into Gigantamax Inteleon
While Gigantamax Pokemon are stronger forms of a particular creature, they are not considered evolutions, as they are temporary forms that are limited to battles.
This means players cannot evolve Inteleon into Gigantamax Inteleon. Instead, they can defeat and catch a regular Inteleon with the Gigantamax ability, as mentioned above.
When a player uses a Pokemon with this special ability in a Max Battle, once the Max Meter is full, it will turn into its Gigantamax form for three turns. Then, it will go back to its standard shape, and players can gather more Max Particles to switch its form again.
Gigantamax Inteleon CP in Pokemon Go
As with every Raid Boss in the game, the CP Gigantamax Inteleon has during a Max battle won’t be the same once you manage to catch it after defeating it. Plus, certain types of weather can increase such CP.
Raid Boss CP | TBD |
CP range once captured | 1614 – 1693 |
Max CP (Level 50) | 3351 |
Gigantamax Inteleon stats & moves

Can Gigantamax Inteleon be Shiny?
No, Gigantamax Inteleon cannot be Shiny in Pokemon Go, as of yet.
In the game, Shinies debut a year after their regular versions. This means that, because Sobble (Inteleon’s base stage) was introduced in September 2024, players will likely have to wait until 2025’s second half to see if its Shiny version is unlocked.
When Shiny Gigantamax Inteleon is added to the game, players will have an easy time spotting it because the differences between one version and another are clear.
Inteleon’s blue body parts will change to turquoise, the black parts will turn white, and the yellow details on its eyelids, head and cape will appear as pink. Though players will just need to look for the – extremely large – white tail.
Remember that the odds of coming across a Shiny Pokemon in the game are very low, and there’s no special method to secure an encounter. All players can do to increase their chances of finding this exceptional creature (once it debuts) is to take on as many Max Battles as they can.
