He left a note with specific instructions: he wanted to be buried in the same grave as his children, without coffins, and requested that no food be served at the funeral.
He also directed the police chief to ensure that Kenya police service rituals were followed, so people wouldn’t assume he had worked in mjengo or as a fisherman. Additionally, he told his wife, Awuor, to marry her sweetheart, Lino, in peace.
