Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that man wearing Uzzi shirt raped a woman from Friday 5am to Sunday 6pm over alcohol in Botshabelo.

The Botshabelo Task Team has successfully captured a 35-year-old individual sought in relation to a case involving rape and murder. READ MORE HERE

After receiving information that the individual was evading arrest, members of the Task Team were dispatched to find and detain him. On 24 February 2025, around 20:30, the team obtained a tip regarding a vehicle moving through Section F. The team quickly reacted, found the vehicle, and executed a tactical stop.

The individual, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was identified and taken into custody.

This arrest is linked to the alleged repeated assault of a 30-year-old victim over a span of two days in E Section, Botshabelo. Additionally, the individual is accused of fatally stabbing a 34-year-old woman who attempted to leave his home after drinking wine he had offered.

The suspect was caught as he was reportedly getting ready to escape from Botshabelo. The 35-year-old will face charges of rape and murder at the Botshabelo Magistrate Court on Wednesday, 26 February 2025.
