Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that CIT heist gang, Vicky Nyalunga, shot dead in LAUDIUM.
Pretoria – A dramatic shootout between police and a suspected cash-in-transit (CIT) heist gang in Laudium, west of Pretoria, has left six suspects dead, including Vicky Nyalunga READ MORE HERE
The incident, which unfolded on 24 February 2025, was the result of a police operation following a tip-off about a planned CIT robbery at Attlyn Mall in Atteridgeville.
According to police reports, officers identified two vehicles allegedly involved in the heist and pursued them as they made their way to Laudium. Upon reaching Military Road, law enforcement attempted to stop the vehicles, but the suspects refused to comply, speeding away while opening fire on the police.
The pursuit ended a few meters ahead when the suspects exited their vehicles, leading to a fierce gun battle. The exchange resulted in the deaths of six suspects on the scene.
Further investigations revealed that one of the vehicles used in the attempted robbery had been reported stolen in Clayville. Police also recovered multiple unlicensed firearms at the scene.
Nyalungu was a well-known socialite who liked showing off his expensive taste. In one of the videos circulating on social media, Nyalungu can be seen buying a R14 000 T-shirt cash.
One suspect, identified as Ayanda Nombebe (22) from Khalankomo in the Eastern Cape, managed to escape during the chaos but was later found hiding in a nearby house and subsequently arrested.
Court Proceedings and Charges
Nombebe now faces a series of serious charges, including:
Six counts of murder
Five counts of possession of unlicensed firearms
Two counts of attempted murder of police officials
Conspiracy to commit robbery
He remains in custody and is expected to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrates’ Court on 26 March 2025 for a regional court appearance.
