Senator Shehu Sani, a Nigerian author, human rights activist and senator that represented Kaduna State at the 9th National Assembly, has taken to his official Twitter platform to react to the death of the popular Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke.

In his post, the Senator wrote that “the death of the Nollywood star, Cynthia Okereke, is a great loss. May her soul rest in peace, Ameen.”
The post by the Senator was coming hours after Channels Television reported that the Nigerian movie industry Nollywood has been hit with yet another sad event, as veteran actress, Cynthia Okereke, has reportedly died, and her death is the latest in the movie industry that have seen some of its stars pass on in recent times such as Saint Obi, Don Brymo, Murphy Afolabi and Chikezie Uwazie are some of the high-profile names that recently passed.
Recall that sometime last year, Cynthia was kidnapped in Enugu State alongside a fellow actor, Clemson Cornel, but they were later released by their abductors.
The news of her death attracted a lot of reactions among many Nigerian social media users as they stormed their accounts to extend their deepest condolences to the family of Cynthia and prayed that they find the fortitude to bear the loss.
