Reactions As Lagos State Close Down Redeemers School After 5-year-old Pupil Drowns during Swimming

According to the report published by PUNCH Newspapers; The Lagos State Ministry of Education has shut the Redeemer’s Nursery and Primary School, Ogba, Lagos State.

The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, announced the shutdown on Monday.

The PUNCH gathered that the school was shut after a five-year-old pupil drowned during a swimming lesson.

Many Nigerians who saw the headline on social media storm the comments section to share their opinions. Out of people’s comments on Facebook, Read three comments from different three different people.

1. I don’t understand some schools while will you take little kids for swimming without proper pool attendance. Even if they must go for swimming they have children swimming pool that’s not deep. may God console the family.

2. Swimming lessons for five years kid? Some school administrators need to still go back to school to study some basic rudiments of school management..

3. I wonder why a parent would agree to allow a child take swimming lessons unsupervised by you ….if your child must take swimming lessons, please be there yourself, People can be careless as if there is a spare life somewhere…RIP boy.
