Nigerian musician, Seun Kuti will be spending additional four days in police custody after the police requested that he should still be in their custody till when his case will be attended to.
According to Linda Ikeji, The order was secured from a Sabo-Yaba chief magistrate court in Lagos state to keep the musician with them till May 22.
The reason why the order to extend his stay was made is to carry out a proper investigation. They still needed the musician around before deciding if he is guilty or not.
Seun Kuti was arrested by the Nigerian police force after a video of him assaulting a police officer surfaced online. He was seen pointing fingers, rudely talking, and even slapped him.
The musician shared a statement on Instagram where he revealed the reason why he assaulted the policeman. He said the policeman wanted to kill his family and that he has proof of his claim.
Seun Kuti was arrested on May 16. He has spent 2 days in police custody. His case was adjourned to May 22.
