American rapper Melissa Viviane Jefferson, also known as Lizzo, has responded to allegations of sexual harassment made by several dancers during her tour, calling their claims sensational.

Earlier this week,three of the singer’s tour dancers sued, claiming Lizzo sexually harassed them and created a hostile work environment.

In a lengthy statement shared on social media On Thursday, Lizzo said “the past few days have been incredibly difficult and extremely disappointing.”

“My work ethic, morals, and respect are being questioned. My character has been criticized,” she said, adding that he was only speaking out because “the allegations are false, but they are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to deal with.

“These sensational stories come from former employees who have already publicly admitted that their behavior while on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional,” she continued.

The 35-year-old emphasized that her “intention was never to make anyone feel uncomfortable or not valued as an important part of the team.”

“I’m not here to be seen as a victim, but I also know that I’m not the villain that people and the media have made me out to be in recent days,” she said.

The lawsuit filed against the music star included several allegations that Lizzo pressured a dancer to touch naked performers at the club and forced several dancers to take part in a “painful” 12-hour audition. It is also alleged that the singer’s dance captain, Shirlene Quigley, forced her Christian beliefs on the performers and belittled those who engaged in premarital sex. The Guardian UK said the suit also said Quigley simulated oral sex, talked about the presenter’s virginity, and shared her “masturbation habits and sex life with her husband”.
