A popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha, popularly known as Warri Pikin, has recounted her ordeal that almost took her life. The actor and social media sensation mentioned how her husband didn’t have money to cater to their needs.
The thought of their lack of money made her feel that everything was over, and she became fed up with life.
Warri Pikin, who got married to her husband, Victor Ikechukwu Asuoha, in 2013, believed that everything she went through with her husband was for a purpose.
In a video during a recent interview with Chude, the comedian revealed what she went through five years ago. In her words, she said, “During the 2017–2018 period, my spouse and I encountered financial difficulties.”
We found ourselves in a state of indebtedness and faced a lot of challenges. Consequently, on June 6, 2018, I made an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Subsequently, I was transferred to approximately three different medical facilities.
However, it was in the final hospital, upon regaining consciousness, that I wondered about the fact that my life had not come to an end. At that moment, as I was asking myself why I had not died, I realized that perhaps God had a purpose for my continued existence.
I expressed to God that this is my story, and I intend to use it for the benefit of others. This signifies that if the Almighty had prevented my death, it must imply His intention for me to use this story to assist those around me rather than keep it to myself.
Subsequently, I embarked on a quest to discover means through which I could disseminate these experiences and the valuable lessons I had gained from them.
The most expeditious approach I could adopt was to use the internet while being limited by the inadequacy of my small phone, which had poor display quality.
During that period, this particular device served as my medium to share my story with the world. During this period, if you saw my face, I had a striking resemblance to a newborn goat.”
