Charly Boy Reacts To Calls For His Arrest Over Inciting Comment

Controversial musician, Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, has responded to the demands for his apprehension following his recent statement.

It is worth recalling that the unconventional singer took to Twitter on Saturday, urging Nigerian youths to follow the example of French protesters who resorted to destroying public property after the shooting of a 17-year-old by the police near Paris on Tuesday.

Charly Boy shared a video showcasing rioters setting fire to various structures in France, expressing his desire for Nigerian youths to similarly reject the system that has failed them.

However, his tweet sparked discontent among some Nigerians who criticized him for allegedly attempting to incite civil unrest and called for his arrest.

In response to the backlash, Charly Boy took to his Twitter account on Sunday, mocking those who demanded his apprehension.

He wrote, “I can’t help but laugh as people continue to make noise and even call for my arrest over my post. It’s quite amusing to witness this circus.”
