Nairobi County Police Chief has released a statement about opposition leader Raila Odinga’s scheduled today massive protest in Nairobi less than three hours before he departs for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
This is taking place while the public continues to have conflicting feelings about the opposition leader’s upcoming move just a few days after the contentious financial measure was enacted.
The Nairobi police chief reportedly gave the rally the go-ahead, stating that the police would provide the necessary protection so that the opposition could hold rallies today.
For the first time in many months, the police chief will permit the opposition to lead a parade toward the venue of today’s massive gathering.
At exactly 2 p.m. today, the opposition leaders are scheduled to arrive at the event location and address a growing audience that has already started to gather there.
