Taking to his Twitter account on Saturday, Nyakera captioned his pictures with Njenga saying, “Kenya is happy. Handshake loading. Say goodbye to maandamano.”

For the past couple of months, Njenga has been associating himself with the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition led by the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

He has also supported the recently held anti-government protests against President William Ruto’s administration, in support of Azimio’s demand to have the cost of living reduced.56f61d901bd7437a9d489fead7e696c9?quality=uhq&resize=720

However, for the past few days, he seemed to have taken a back seat even as the Azimio camp agree to have fresh talks with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

In his recent interview with Spice FM, Njenga revealed that he was not angling for the position of Mount Kenya kingpin, dismissing the claims from a section of leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza side that he was out to position himself as the region kingpin, a position argued to be favouring the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Other leaders in the Azimio camp who are seemingly taking a back seat especially after the coalition unveiled the list of members to face Kenya Kwanza for fresh talks are the Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, Former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni, Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and Former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi.
