National Assembly Speaker Dr. Moses Masika Wetangula on Wednesday threw a unity dice to the Mulembe Nation, calling upon leaders in the region to help reorganize the Western Kenya vote.
Speaking in Likuyani, Kakamega County, Dr. Wetangula advised the Mulembe nation to consider putting their politics together. Below is his speech verbatim:
“I have listened to Senator Khalwale and he is right when he says that we know how to reorganize our social life. That is very true because in every homestead, we have ten to twenty children. We have done that perfectly.
What we have only lacked is putting our politics in order; that we can achieve a lot of things in politics if united. Going forward, we must speak one political language. All of us must decide our destiny as one.
We must stand united; that when we make a wrong choice, let’s do it as a team and when we make a correct decision, lets do it as a team. That is how we are going to be respected.
Just our neighbours here where the President hails from, they only have one vote. When you go to Central Kenya, that is the same case and Nyanza is no exception to this. But when you reach here in Western, we want to show that we are the true democrats,” Dr. Wetangula paused amidst cheers from his audience.
He wound up his speech by asking leaders to shelf their pride and allow for a proper political alignment with an organized chain of command in the region.
